Californian bass-virtuoso/all round surreally talented musician Thundercat has returned today with a new single - ‘Bus In The Streets’, which stands as the first official single to be released since his superb 2015 mini-album The Beyond / Where the Giants Roam. The new cut unsurprisingly showcases his intricate, spellbinding fret work - using it to joyous effect amidst contemplative, cutting lyrics. “Where would we be if we couldn’t tweet our thoughts?” he asks - to a backdrop of airy synths and dainty electronically-tinged bells and whistles. An introspective, comedic ode to our supposed dependence on technology - this phenomenal new single arrives ahead of a string of live performances - and we’d put our money on another body of work to be on its way, very soon.
